I've been thinking about this for eight years.

I got my real estate licence early in my career, then spent a decade in mining — running sales, building relationships, watching how markets that aren't built for the customer eventually get rebuilt by the customer.

Property is one of those markets. Every other major asset class in Australia has been remade around what buyers actually want — mortgages by Lendi, cars by Carsales, travel by Booking. Property is the last hold-out, and it's the largest market of all.

I'm building Wanting to Buy because the people I know — first-home buyers, families upgrading, investors, downsizers — all describe the same broken experience. They want a home. The market makes them chase one. We can do better than that.
